Configuring "Folder Copy" Backups

A "folder copy" backup instructs your Fieldpine Store Server to periodically copy all its files/folders to another folder on the same PC. Many network storage solutions will then copy these files offsite. A simple effective backup.

Warning. Do not place Fieldpine directly into a Folder that is replicated to cloud storage. You will very likely corrupt your system or lose transactions.

Configuring

TBA

How it Works

  • A log file will be created in the output folder called backup_mostrecent_runlog.txt containing the progress and error details
  • A single copy of the previous backup run is also kept, called backup_previous_runlog.txt
  • If enabled, the backup will check for other key applications often used as part of Fieldpine and also copy those to the output folder. They will be placed in a sub folder called "OtherSystemFiles_xxx" where xxx is the application name. Common applications copied are Cloudflared tunnel configuration and Stunnel configuration.
  • All selected files are copied, overwriting any current version.
  • All subfolders of \Fieldpine are copied
